Green energy is also known as alternative energy, renewable energy, clean energy, non-polluting energy, clean technologies, and non-fossil fuel sources among many other names. Green power and green energy are names also used to refer to power generated from the alternative sources of energy. On the flip side of the coin, brown energy is what is used to refer to non-green sources of energy. But what really is this green energy?

environment

Green energy is simply energy or power generated in a manner that has less to no negative effects on the environment when compared to sources of energy such as fossil fuels and stuff, which will normally be produced with adverse side effects on the environment. When green energy is mentioned, the types of energy that will mostly come to the mind of many include geothermal, wind, solar and hydro energy.  Much different from the companies that do heating and Cooling St louis and in other cities.

These are just a few, there are others, sometimes even including nuclear energy which is sometimes thought to be a good energy source because it has a low waste output compared to famous energy sources such as oil or coal.

It is believed that each and every form of collecting or generating energy today results in some kind of pollution to the environment, but those that cause less pollution are the green ones. Supporters of green energy and the use of green sources of energy argue that the result of using green energy worldwide will result in a sustainable planet for a long period of time. A by-product of the ‘normal’ sources of energy such as coal, known as greenhouse gases, are what many believe cause global warming.

Global warming is simply the accelerated pace at which the earth is heating up. Thus, the main goal of green energy is to ensure power is created in the most efficient way that will cause little to no pollution as a by-product.

Green-Energy01

It is important to note that green energy sources are not necessarily those from the renowned ‘green power plants’ i.e. wind and solar. You can find a building that has been designed to become a green source of energy in itself. Such a building is designed in such a way that it can cool itself during the day and subsequently heat up at night without the need of a heating or air-conditioning system, thanks to its sustainable architectural design. In addition to that, you can also reduce your ecological footprint at a personal level.
